MARRIAGE UNDER REPAIR Written by: Diane Patterson Onuntuei

I saw him pull her hair
And then punch her face.
Oh my God, what has gotten
Into this human race?

Oh man, don’t you know
That is not the way you should care
For the woman that you loved and married,
You know that is not fair.

The bible says you should cherish
And love your wife,
Just as you love yourself
But it appears that you yourself need help.

And my dear little sister,
Why do you provoke your man
And push him to the end
Where he can no longer stand?

You are supposed to submit
Yourself to your husband,
And reverence him through,
And be kind, and loving, and true.

We have to make some
Changes in this here life
So there can peace
Between husbands and wives!

What are the children going to say?
What are they going to do
When they find out that mommy and daddy’s
Relationship is through?

Then as they grow up and try to start anew,
What do you think they will do?
You can do better husband and wife
If you let God show you how to forgive and do it right.

I know that she may have hurt you
And I know that he may have been wrong
But God says what He has joined together,
Man should not pull apart
Therefore, you need to forgive
From deep within your heart
And then take a new stand
And look at each other again

And say: I truly love you dear,
I didn’t mean to hurt you,
But I was ravaged with anger and fear.
Come my darling; let us try again,

But this time we will do it with Him
I know that we can win.
Let us humble ourselves before God
And pray day and night.

We don’t have to have a broken marriage
But we can win this fight.
Dear God: we ask You to forgive us
For the foolish things we have done.

And now we want to try love again,
But this time with your Son.
Help us through the hard times
As we seek Your holy face;

And help us through the good times
To give You all of the praise for your grace.
This institution of marriage
May not be easy all of the time

But it is certainly not a time to continually whine.
God intended that man should not live alone
So don’t give up your good thing,
But cherish her in your home.

She is the weaker sex and
God made you the head.
Therefore you should stand strong
And let the family be led

In a godly way, teach them to stand and pray,
And be an example for the children.
Then you will look forward to fulfilled years
With minimized tears and you will give God all of the glory.

“. . . What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.” (Matt.19:6).

Tired

Have you ever gotten to a point where you're just tired. Like not just physically but emotionally and mentally as well? It exhausting and to try and act like nothing is wrong is even more tiring. You can't get out of bed, you don't want to do anything, you're just not yourself.

Well lately i've been feeling like that. I haven't been myself and people are starting to notice. It's sad because i feel like this is just one of my phases that i have to just let pass. Growing up the way that i did i never relied on many people. I was always told to take care of myself and not to let people think i'm weak. I was taught wrong. I know it's okay to let people in because they are here to help. Just watch who you talk to. Cause some people are true but others are just nosey and want to be in your business. I know this for a fact because i've been backstabbed, betrayed, and burned too many times to count. It's said when people use what you say against you or try to take advantage of you.

Anyways back to be tired. It started earlier this semester,  actually before school started. I've been dealing with my grandmother and her illness. That just alone has taken it's toll on me. Seeing my grandmother in that position and her not knowing who i am hurt. I never thought that it would hurt this bad but it does and it's still hurting. I love my grandmother dearly and i would do anything for her. Right now i'm petitioning to get guardianship over her. I love my nana as well but i know for a fact that i can do a better job with taking care of business. I may not know everything but i try to find out what i need to know and get what i need to get done. I hate that my family is going through this right now. I just wish people maid better choices when it comes to our loved ones.

Well on top of that i've been dealing with school and focusing on graduating. I've rearranged my priorities and some people don't like that. Well i value my school and life more than anything else. As i always say, "(such and such) is not paying my bills or giving me a degree, so therefore (such and such) has no top priority in my life." People also don't understand that i need my time. I need to focus on what i came here to do and that's what i'm going to do whether you like it or not. At this point i could care less and some people may be mad but i don't care. I gotta do what's right for Brittany! Come next semester my focus and goal is for GRADUATION ONLY! Nothing else matters.

Being tired is not cool, it not only affects your body but your mind and soul as well. I've been taking the time to talk to God one on one because i know that He is the only one that can take care of me and my problems. I know without God i would be nothing, i wouldn't have anything and i wouldn't be where i am today. He has provided me with all my needs plus more. So therefor i give Him all the praise, the honor and the glory that He deserves. I thank Him for my good and bad days because i know that without the bad days i would learn how to appreciate the good days. He is my Savior, my Prince of Peace, my Deliver, my Protector, my Provider, my Shelter, my Doctor, and my Father.

To God be the Glory plus more!
Peace

The Runner's Mile

As i laced up my shoes
For my morning run,
I suddenly felt His presence
Envelope me...
Something like the sun.

Hi God, I know it's been a while...
"Hey friend, I know you've been busy.
Can I join you for a mile!"

We set off down the track.
Talked about this, talked about that,
After a while, as I picked up my pace,
I felt that he was hanging back.

"Hey God, you mind if I run ahead?"
I wanted to maintain my P.R-
For me it's better your best,
Or just stay in bed.

He said 'go ahead - hope you don't mind, But I lightened up your load,"
And as I looked back, he was picking up my sins, troubles, and burdens
From the road.

I was so touched
That I began to cry
I felt HIS warm embrace
And all the fear in me died.

'You keep running
I'll take care of you
And remember in all things...
To thine own self be true.'

Now I always run with HIM
And through thick and thin
He always carries my load
And I always win!
