24 Interludes of Life

This is dedicated to my wonderful friends who enrich my life with the treasure of their being. May your soul decisions always be made with your heart, and not with your head.
1. Don't go for looks, they can deceive. Don't go for wealth even that fades away. Go for someone who makes you smile.
2. There are moments in life when you really miss someone that you want to pick them up from your dreams and hug them. Hope you dream of that someone.
3. Dream what you want to dream, go where you want to go, be what you want to be, because you have only one life and one chance to do all the things you want in life.
4. May you have...Enough happiness to make you sweet
Enough trials to make you strong
Enough sorrow to keep you human
Enough hope to make you happy
And enough money to keep you comfortable.
5. When one door of happiness closes, another opens. But we often took so long at the closed door, that we don't see the one which has been opened for us.
6. The best kind of friend is the one you could sit on a porch, swing with, never saying a word and then walk away feeling like that was the best conversation you've had.
7. It's true that we don't know what we've got until we lose it, but it's also true that we don't know what we've been missing until it arrives.
8. Always put yourself in other's shoes. If you feel that it hurts you, it probably does hurt the person too.
9. A careless word may kindle a strife;
A cruel word may wreck a life
A timely word may level stress
A lovely word may heal and bless.
10. The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves and not to twist them with our own image, otherwise we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them.
11. The happiest people don't necessarily have the best of everything, they just make the most of everything that comes along the way.
12. Maybe God wants us to meet a few wrong people before meeting the right one so that when we finally meet the right person, we should know how to be grateful for that gift.
13. It takes a minute to have a crush on someone, an hour to like someone and a day to love someone, but it takes a lifetime to forget someone.
14. Happiness lies for those who cry, those who hurt, those who have searched and those who have tried. For only they can appreciate the importance of people who have touched their lives.
15. Love is when you take away the feeling, the passion, the romance and find out you still care for that person.
16. A sad thing about life is that when you meet someone who means a lot to you only to find out in the end that it was never bound to be and you just have to let go.
17. Love starts with a smile, develops with a kiss and ends with a tear.
18. Love comes to those who still hope even though they've been disappointed, to those who still believe even though they've been betrayed, need to love those who still love, even though they've been hurt before.
19. It hurts to love someone, and not to be loved in return but what is most painful is to love someone and never finds the courage to let the person know how you feel.
20. The brightest future will always be based on a forgotten past. You can't go on well in life until you let go of your past failures and heartaches.
21. Never say goodbye when you still want to try;
Never give up when you still feel you can take it;
Never say you don't love that person anymore when you can't let go.
22. Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they'll love you back. Don't expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in their hearts but if it doesn't, be content it grew in yours.
23. There are things you love to hear but you would never hear it from the person whom you would like to hear it from, but don't be deaf to hear it from the person who says it with his heart.
24. When you were born, you were crying and everyone around you was smiling. Live your life to the fullest so that when you die, you're smiling and everyone
around you is crying.

"She is your mirror, shining back at you with a world of possibilities.
She is your witness, who sees you at your worst and best, and loves you anyway.
She is your partner in crime, your midnight companion, someone who knows when you are smiling, even in the dark. She is your teacher, your defense attorney, your personal press agent, even your shrink.
She is your sister." ~ Barbara Alpert

Do you just belong?

Do You Just Belong?
Are you an active member, the kind that would be missed?
Or are you contented that your name is on the list?
Do you attend the meetings and mingle with the flock?
Or do you stay at home and criticize and knock?
Do you ever go and visit a member that is sick?
Or leave the work to just a few and talk about the clique?
There's quite a program scheduled that I'm sure you've heard about.
And we will appreciate it if you'll come and help with hand and heart
Don't be just a member, dig in and do your part.
Think this over member - you know right from wrong.
Are you an active member, or do you just belong?
~ Unknown

Sometimes

Sometimes we stand outside life
Waiting for a door to open to us
Hoping the person behind that door
Will let us in and be our friend
I was once on the outside
Until a door opened to me and
Behind it I found not only a
Friend, but a new world- a sisterhood-
Now I stand behind that door- on the inside
Helping to open it for someone else
Who stands where I once stood.
~ Linda Parks

Why

People ask why I am in a sorority and I try to explain all the things a sorority is that they cannot see.
A sorority is more than letters on a sweatshirt, I say.
More than traditional songs, a gold pin, rituals, and obligation, or a way of life.
A sorority is learning about people, a sorority is giving without expecting a return.
A sorority is earning respect from others, as well as for yourself.
A sorority will not solve all your problems.
But I have made good friends and found confidence there to help me take life one step at a time.

I know a girl...
Who is amazing.

She runs a few miles a day, aces her classes,
organizes social events, and participates in all sorts of campus organizations.
At night she may go out and have fun, but she always manages to get everything   done.

I know a girl...
Who will let you cry on her shoulder and will be there for you in times of need.
She has lots of friends and makes sure she leaves enough time to hang with them   all.
She will give good advice and listen to your every word and thought with an   unbiased ear.
She will love you for who you are and accept you no matter what.

I know a girl...
Who will smile even though she didn't have the greatest day.
She always brings her positive attitude and it's contagious.
Those who are around her want to smile too!

I know a girl...
Who will bring out the best in everyone she meets.
She has friends in many different houses on this campus as well as friends who   are not Greek, because she does not care what house you're in.
Who parties it up at fraternity parties, but goes many other places at night.

You might know this girl too...
Whether you're in her house or not, everyone knows one of these girls.
She is my sister.

She might be your sister, or she might be someone else's.
Those that know this girl know what sororities are all about because she  represents them in almost everything she does.

Dedicated to all my sister greeks who i've met and come to love!

Sisterhood

They're the people you can share your secrets with, cry with, laugh with, and just be yourself with.
They don't judge you or make you change.
They accept you exactly as you are.
They look at you and they see a great person, one they love spending time with.
You all share something in common and are tied together by memories, tears, laughs & smiles.
You're tied together by love for the other.
Sisterhood is the greatest thing in the world.
I find my time with my sisters the best times of my life.
My sisters are my heart, my soul, my fun, my laughter, my tears, my love and my life

"Words will never explain how grateful i am to have you all, through the fights, arguing, tears, and pain i will always love you'll!!"

The Definition of a Zeta Woman from a Sigma Man

The day of January 16, 1920 made history
It should have been crystal clear to everybody
A woman of Zeta is the sum of every other sorority
And then some
All in one

She is beautiful inside and out every day of the week
Her mind is thinking of innovative thoughts constantly
She is aggressive in getting what she yearns for
She is protective over those who mean a lot to her

A woman of Zeta is an active leader in her community
She believes in leading the charge
To what holds dear to her heart
Never leaving one stone untouched
Until her mission to succeed is completed
She is the epitome of finer womanhood
Always looking to improve her environment for the good
As she continues to give the best she could

Whether it’s walking numerous miles
Bright and early with a lovely smile
To support the yearly Breast Cancer Walk
Or feeding the homeless
And organizing drives for the poor to have warm clothes
For the winter cold
A woman of Zeta has a heart of gold
And is very focused
In reaching her goals

A woman of Zeta is educated on the game of life
She refuses to throw in the towel
When obstacles may come around
Her mind and drive is set on reaching the finish line
In stride with her head held up high
Representing the ladies of blue and white with the utmost pride
